Colours of the Year 2024

We generally create our jewelry designs based on our own inspiration. However, it's always fun to look ahead and try to predict and guess what trends will be popular. Several companies come out with a Colour of the Year. Whether or not the colours catch on in popularity, you'll be likely to find them popping up in home decor, paint colours, and fashion.

Pantone comes out with a Colour of the Year and a coordinating palette of colours to go with it. This year's colour is Peach Fuzz. Gentle and uplifting, it's quite different from the bold magenta they selected last year.

In terms of gemstones, you're likely to see this colour in peach pearls, calcite, morganite, peach moonstone, spessartite garnet, quartz, aventurine, peristerite, and even shell beads.

Etsy also comes up with a Colour of the Year, and this year they've chosen Berry. Similar to Pantone's colour last year, it's a bold, deep purpley magenta colour. Leaning into the theme of romance, Etsy is calling it a "grown-up version" of the hot pink colour that was so popular in 2023. In terms of gemstones, think of garnets, rhodonite, ruby, tourmaline, spinel, eudialyte, or fluorite. Alternately, there are also many gemstone beads dyed into this colour, such as agate or howlite.

It’s hard to predict what people are going to love, but I think this year they’ve both made good predictions. And you might even say we’re ahead of the curve, as both colours appear around our website, such as in the banner below for our mailing list!
